We have NDX at risk of going into bearish mode. The cross-currents between the sectors and major US indexes continue.
Stock positions:
DECK is on a standard Buy signal and makes it into the bullish mode category, which is an important step for spBuy entries. Depending on how the markets act we probably still close it out as soon as MoM peaks. I would prefer to see a few more positions make it into bullish mode, but we can only trade what comes.
An observant reader asked why we do mostly spBuy entries in recent months. The reason is that the number of stocks in bullish mode has been weak, so there are fewer good Buy signals to take. And with the SPX largely going sideways since June, we can still do swing trades on oversold stocks and that's what spBuy signals are for. The standard Buy signals are meant for trend following strategies and thus work best when there is a trend to follow.
